Created as part of an ongoing exploration into movement through line, Construction Study I reveals the process behind my larger pen drawings. Using a series of hand-cut guides, each flowing curve is carefully developed before being built line by line with archival pens. What begins as a simple framework gradually evolves into a composition filled with rhythm, colour and depth.

Although every line follows a predetermined path, the layering of colour creates unexpected moments of harmony and movement across the paper. The study celebrates the balance between structure and spontaneity, offering a glimpse into the methods that underpin my larger original works while standing as a finished artwork in its own right.

Inspired by the unforgettable opening shout of Blur's Song 2, this drawing celebrates the joy of football as a shared experience. From afternoons spent playing FIFA with friends to the collective excitement of the World Cup, the work reflects those moments when competition gives way to laughter, celebration and connection.

Drawn entirely with archival pens, thousands of individual lines sweep across the surface in flowing waves of colour. Each line follows its own path while contributing to a larger rhythm, echoing the movement, energy and spontaneity of the beautiful game.

The title, Woohoo, captures an instant of pure exhilaration—that split second of celebration after a goal, a victory, or simply sharing the moment with others. Influenced by music, memory and the universal language of football, the drawing is a celebration of optimism, friendship and the joy of coming together through play.

Inspired by a moment of collective celebration, this drawing began with a fleeting glimpse of a supporter whose striped shirt recalled the iconic designs of Paul Smith. That brief association sparked a deeper exploration of colour, fashion, memory and British cultural identity.

Drawn entirely with archival pens, thousands of individual lines flow across the surface, converging and separating like voices joining together in song. Bands of colour weave across the page, creating rhythms and harmonies that echo the energy of a crowd united in a shared experience.

The title references the opening lyric of Wonderwall, the song that became the soundtrack to that memory. Like the song itself, the drawing is built from simple elements repeated over time, creating something larger than the sum of its parts. Each line retains its own identity while contributing to a collective whole.

Influenced by the vibrant striped palettes of British fashion and the emotional resonance of music, the work celebrates connection, optimism and those fleeting moments when individual voices become something greater together.

My story

Hi, I’m Anthony — a UK-based artist whose work is inspired by the atmosphere, energy, and quiet beauty of the natural world. Using layers of spray paint, acrylic pens, and line work, I create abstract compositions that explore movement, light, memory, and place.

Recent works have drawn inspiration from landscapes, changing weather, and fleeting moments of light — from the glow of northern skies to early morning roads across the UK. I’m interested in capturing not only what we see, but also what we feel within those moments: stillness, motion, wonder, and connection.

My process is rooted in experimentation and repetition, allowing texture, imperfections, and layered marks to become part of the final piece. Each work evolves through a balance of structure and spontaneity.

Having spent many years exhibiting internationally as part of an art duo, my current practice represents a deeply personal new chapter — one shaped by reflection, creativity, and a renewed appreciation for vision, nature, and everyday life.

Thank you for visiting my space. I hope the work resonates with you and invites a moment of pause, reflection, and curiosity.
