This A4 study was created during the development of a larger series of works exploring movement through repeated lines and colour. Inspired by photographs of the hand-made templates seen in Bridget Riley's studio, the piece began with small sections of card cut into different curves and used as guides to establish a visual system.
Built line by line, the composition explores how subtle variations in curvature can generate rhythm, movement and flow across the surface. Serving as both an experiment and a construction drawing, the study helped establish the processes and structures later developed into larger A2 works.
