Archival pen on 425gsm Saunders Waterford paper

Original artwork — one of one
This piece was created at the close of a deeply memorable journey to Bermuda—a place that left a lasting impression on me.
During my time there, I joined staff from the Hamilton Princess in collecting plastic along the shoreline—an experience that grounded the island’s beauty with a quiet awareness of its fragility.
Walking the coast, I caught a fleeting moment out of the corner of my eye: the sky seemed to echo the rhythm of the sea. The soft, undulating forms of the waves were mirrored above, as if the horizon had dissolved and both elements were speaking the same visual language. That moment stayed with me.
This work explores that convergence—where ocean and sky blur into one continuous flow. The layered lines build movement and atmosphere, suggesting both the gentle pull of the tide and the shifting light of a final sunrise or sunset. It reflects on endings, but also on the kind of experiences that don’t really end—those that settle into you and stay.
Bermuda, with its colour, energy, and quiet beauty, is a place I’ll carry with me. This piece holds onto that feeling—of being present in a moment where everything felt briefly, perfectly connected.
