An A2 portrait, one-of-one, this work captures the restless energy of wind and water through a dense field of flowing lines. Bands of saturated colour—electric blues, warm reds, sunlit yellows and soft pastel tones—undulate across the surface, bending and shifting like currents in motion.
Inspired by recent windy days in Bermuda, the piece evokes the layered experience of watching kite tails flicker in the sky while choppy seas below echo their rhythm. The lines ripple like wind shear across water, at times tightening into turbulence, at others stretching into smoother, elongated waves. There’s a constant push and pull—suggestive of gusts, thermals, and the invisible architecture of air.
Moments within the composition hint at fleeting observations: the glide of longtail birds cutting through the sky, the arcing trails of kites, and the shifting paths of wind surfers skimming across the surface. These elements aren’t depicted directly, but felt—embedded in the tempo and direction of the lines.
The work balances intensity with lightness, chaos with flow, creating a meditative yet energetic visual field that invites the viewer to trace their own path through the movement.
